Some feelings deserve more than words.

EOS takes its name from the Greek goddess of dawn, who brought the first light of a new day. For us, EOS is the awakening of an emotion: the moment you realise how you feel.

That is why every candle is named after a word from a different culture, a word that captures a feeling English cannot quite hold in one go.

  • Meraki (Greek): To put your soul, creativity and love into everything you do.
  • Mamihlapinatapai (Yaghan): A look shared between two people, each hoping the other will begin something they both desire.
  • Kilig (Tagalog): The fluttery, giddy feeling when something or someone makes your heart smile.
  • Hygge (Danish): A feeling of cosiness, contentment and well-being found in simple things.

Mamihlapinatapai comes from Yaghan, the language of the Yaghan people of Tierra del Fuego.

Each scent is built to match its word, and each candle comes with a small write-up about where the word comes from. We are not only selling candles. We are making a quiet ritual out of everyday moments.
