EOS Creations Candle Care Guide

Because every beautiful fragrance deserves a little care.

To enjoy your EOS Creations candles safely and make the most of every burn, follow these simple rituals.

1. Trim Your Wick

Before every burn, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch (5–6 mm). This helps maintain a steady flame and reduces excessive smoke and soot.

2. Make the First Burn Count

Allow the wax to melt evenly across most of the surface during the first burn, where possible. This helps minimise tunnelling. Never exceed 4 hours of continuous burning.

3. Keep Away from Drafts

Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from fans, open windows, curtains and flammable objects.

4. Burn with Care

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children and pets, and maintain at least 12 inches (30 cm) of clearance above the flame.

5. Keep the Wax Clean

Remove wick trimmings, matches and other debris from the wax. Never add water, fragrance oil or foreign materials to your candle.

6. Know When to Stop

Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch (12 mm) of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. This helps prevent overheating.

7. Extinguish Gently

Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Allow the wax and vessel to cool completely before touching, moving or covering the candle.

8. Store with Love

Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to help preserve its fragrance and appearance.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the first burn important?

The first burn helps establish an even wax pool and can minimise tunnelling, where wax burns down the centre while leaving unused wax around the edges.

Allow the wax to melt evenly across most of the surface where possible, without exceeding the recommended maximum burn duration.

Should I trim the wick before every burn?

Yes. We recommend trimming your candle wick to approximately ¼ inch (5–6 mm) before each burn.

This helps maintain a steady flame and reduces excessive smoking and soot.

Why is my candle producing black smoke?

Black smoke may occur when the wick is too long, the flame is exposed to drafts or debris has accumulated in the wax.

Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool completely, trim the wick and relight it in a draft-free environment.

Why is my candle tunnelling?

Tunnelling occurs when wax melts primarily around the wick rather than evenly across the surface.

To help prevent this, allow sufficient time for an even melt pool to develop, particularly during the first burn. Always follow the maximum recommended burn duration.

Can I leave my candle burning overnight?

No. Never leave a burning candle unattended or burn it while sleeping.

Always extinguish your candle before leaving the room.

When should I stop using my candle?

Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch (12 mm) of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.

Burning beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.

How should I store my scented candles?

Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and humidity. Place the Candle dust cover back to ensure dust doesn’t accumulate at the top.

Proper storage helps maintain the appearance and fragrance of your candles.
